Bundaleer and Wirrabara forests are ideal places for many recreational activities, such as walking, picnicking and camping. Historic Bundaleer Forest is the birthplace of forestry in Australia. Accommodation is available in Curnow's hut, originally built for Bundaleer's first nurseryman, William Curnow.

Bundaleer Forest is situated in South Australia's mid-north, to the south of the township of Jamestown. From Adelaide, drive 220 km north through Clare and Spalding.

Wirrabara Forest is situated in the Southern Flinders Ranges, 3 hours drive north from Adelaide, west of the township of Wirrabara. From Adelaide, drive up through Clare, Gladstone and Laura.
