ForestrySA operates an innovative and sustainable plantation forestry business and is seeking to grow.

A position with ForestrySA has excellent career prospects from direct involvement in securing and establishing forests, and nurturing and protecting them through to harvest and delivery of product. ForestrySA continually seeks to improve our knowledge and management of our forests.

We offer career opportunities in forest fire management, forest assessment and measurement, planting and managing new forests, harvesting and marketing timber, road construction, mapping, managing native forest reserves, forest recreation management, community engagement, finance, people management, records, computer information services and administration.

ForestrySA’s Head Office is South Australia’s first green 5-star rated government building. To help reduce carbon emissions our building maximises the use of natural lighting and water recycling, and includes the use of smart technology such as variable lights and solar water heating, along with a computer controlled building management system.

We have an advanced Forest Management System that has enabled us to create a safe work environment and achieve sustainability and environmental certification to international standard ISO 14001 and AS 4708 (Australian Forestry Standard).

ForestrySA is responsible for South Australia's state-owned plantation resource, which consists primarily of 84,000 ha of radiata pine in the Green Triangle and Ranges regions.  ForestrySA also provides community and recreation facilities within these forests and manages an additional 25,000 ha of native forest area for conservation.

We have a strong focus on safety, and the development and support of our people in a team based environment.
